If you would like therapy from an experienced and trusted Clinical Psychologist who is compassionate, thoughtful and hopeful, I am right here.
I am experienced in working with young people and adults who experience distress in relation to their mental health and wellbeing. I work in private practice and for the NHS.
Who do I work with?
I work with individuals, couples and families. I also work with wider networks e.g. school/college/universities and workplaces.
I am an inclusive practitioner and experienced in working with people of all cultural, religious/spiritual, gender and sexual and questioning identities.
What can I help you with?
I work with people who identify with having experiences of:
Anxiety
Depression/Low mood
Low self-esteem and assertiveness
Grief and loss
Stress (including school/work stress) Traumatic experiences
Relationship difficulties
How do you work?
I will work with you virtually, either via video call or over the phone. If you live in the South West we can make arrangements to see each other face-to-face.
I will use an approach that best supports your psychological needs and use the best clinical guidelines and research available. This means I will spend time getting to know you and will develop the approach that is appropriate for you. I use an integration of Narrative Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Systemic Therapy.
I am an ethical practitioner and we will review your therapeutic needs to ensure what you are receiving is right for you and make adjustments as we go. I will listen to any feedback you have, and use this to adapt our work.
If I know your psychological needs would be better supported by a different specialist or could be offered for free/cheaper in a local organisation I will tell you, before you agree to any further sessions with me.
Autism or ADHD Post Diagnostic Support and Coaching
I specialise in working with neurodivergent young people, adults and families.
Neurodivergent is a term used for autism, adhd, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and Tourette’s.
I am experienced in ensuring I adapt the therapy and support to the needs of the person and the people/organisations around them. I have personal and professional experience working with neurodivergence and I can be trusted in getting it right for you. Meet Dr Sarah
Many neurodivergent people are not appropriately supported by people who don't know! I have an inclusive practice that understands your neurodivergent needs and the distress and traumas i.e. bullying, isolation, exploitation, relationship challenges, that can come with being neurodivergent.
Sometimes therapy isn't the right support for a neurodivergent person and so we will work out the best approach for you, which could be coaching.
You are not the problem and I will work with you and the world you are in, to ensure you have a better quality of life.
